The Loyola/Notre Dame
Library is pleased to announce this year’s Catholic Contemporary Writer, Anne
M. Butler. Dr. Butler, a Baltimore native and alumna of the Institute of Notre
Dame, will discuss her newest book, Across God’s Frontiers: Catholic Sisters in
the American West, 1850-1920. Join us at 6:00pm on October 17 in Ridley
Auditorium for what is sure to be a thought-provoking discussion about the
intersection of Catholicism, women’s self-empowerment, and how nuns have
historically worked to effect meaningful change even in the most desolate of
circumstances. A book signing will follow the reading and lecture.
